Well here goes...!

Well here goes my leap into blogging :)

I have been struggling with empty nest syndrome these past few years as my children leave the nest and I am faced with what to do with my future. I have looked for a job that would utilize my skills and replace the empty hours, but who wants to hire a 50 year old, slightly overweight, woman that has spent the last 20 years of her life raising kids? NO ONE!

So...I get out the self-help books and tune in to Dr. Phil, trying to figure out my 'life's path' and passions that have long been shelved behind the chauffeur's license and school calendars. HA! My ahhh haaa moment! As early as 5 years old I remember sitting with my mom learning to hand sew. At 12 years old I found the neatest, odd little gizmo at Woolworth's (we used to call it the 'penny' store, now I guess we have dollar stores lol). Huh...a shuttle...75 cents, plus 50 cents for the Coats & Clark book. Even though I am left handed, I was determined to figure out the beautiful little patterns. Passion #1 re-ignited!

As I pick up my shuttle once again, I find a wonderful new world of tatters out here in cyberland. While I tat my way through the day, I ponder...what is passion #2?
